CREATING
A GLOBAL ESL CLASSROOMVIA WEB 2.0 TOOLS
Our Project " Creating a Global ESL Classroom via Web 2.0 Tools" is a Small-Scale Partnerships in School Education Project to be carried out under Key action 2, KA210-SCH, of Erasmus+programme.
The project consists of four different partners from four different programme countries. The partner institutions are from Türkiye, Portugal, Croatia and the Netherlands.
Our project will support students to reach sufficient language competence levels with the integration of Web 2.0 tools as a new technology into English classes which offer students opportunities to solve real-world problems and to collaborate in meaningful ways with peers in face-to-face or online classrooms.
In this concept, our project will have a great contribution to raise awareness in language in our schools. In our Project, we aim to;
- develop social, cultural and linguistic awareness of participants,
- have students and teachers equipped with general knowledge of technology and Web 2.0 tools and those who already have knowledge of the subject develop their competence to use this information in the field of education,
- develop the basic skills of our students and educational staff related to innovative approaches,
- improve digital integration and digital literacy by providing high quality education to our students,
- inform and encourage our students to use technology efficiently to improve their academic success,
- create highly interactive, versatile educational processes - encourage students to work collaboratively that improves the working environment and saves time
-provide easy access to constantly renewed information by embodying abstract topics,
- ensure effective student participation and high readiness in language learning - enable them to use social media such as Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, Twitter, Pinterest, podcasts and blogs in the direction that will serve education, -implement virtual classroom designers such as Moodle, Google Classroom, Padlet, Edmodo, etc. By using these tools , online assignments can be given and tracked, evaluated. The teachers and students can have the opportunity to communicate outside the school as it allows them to share resources.
- broaden students' perspectives and create cultural links among European peers.
- provide for both teachers and students the improvement of their linguistic competences with the effective communication during the project acts
- enhance the European dimension of the teaching/learning process
- promote Erasmus+ program
- contribute to the success of students' who are weak in language skills by integrating the most proper Web 2.0 tools for each language skill (reading/writing/listening/speaking)
-encourage tech-addicted students to use the internet in a more useful way
- create a classroom that is rich in learning experiences designed for students.
